Time to take off your Spanx off and get this party started for 2012! No resolutions this time, those get broken. This is the time to decide what you want to accomplish for the New Year. Let’s set some realistic goals, plan what races you want to run, tri or swim and get ready to train with some of the coolest cats in Wilmington! You’ve joined the Pink Ladies now (and if you didn’t, you know you want to!).  Let’s empower, inspire, motivate, and support our local charity Nourish NC together. So share your plan and goals with an old or new friend and hold each other accountable.

Visit these websites below. You can search by race type or by date…but if you’re a newbie, probably best to stay local and start with the Azalea Tri on March 10. Coach Karen Buxton is providing an 8 week training plan for you to use to get prepared and started. The race itself is a 12 lap pool swim, 10 mile bike and 5 k finish all at UNCW. If you are not interested in racing, we still need Pink Lady volunteers. With enough volunteers we ensure our charity Nourish NC will get a wonderful financial contribution! Another notable race is our Lil Washington race within the FS Series on May 19-20! The format has changed but this will be our 3rd annual Pink Ladies tri is sure to be a fun and exciting weekend indeed! Don’t be intimidated…the sprint is super fun and fast!

In January we are going to offering a Pink Ladies running/shoe fit clinic (dates tbd) that will be perfect for the seasoned marathon runner or perfect prep for the athlete wanting to do their first 5k!

Tri Tops are being designed and we will be have fit kits delivered in January so that we can have them ready for Azalea and cheer on the sea of pink! Details to come.

The holidays have been busy and we are working on placing all your membership info into our databases and will be mailing out laminated membership card soon so you can take advantage of all the local sponsor discounts in town. Be sure to show your card at TrySports and BikeCycles too as they both give a great percentage of sales back to the Pink Ladies 2012 charity! Thanks as always to ALL our amazing sponsors!

Pink ladies Rock

We can safely say that tonight’s kickoff of the pink ladies was more than an amazing success! With more than 80 women in attendance it was an awesome and a truly humbling experience! 

We thank our sponsors for supporting us and the women who believed in us! But we also thank the charity that will benefit from us!

Girls it is on!! Think you know us? Think again! This group of women just keeps amazing us and it's going to amaze you! 80+ women HA!  That's only the beginning! The community and sponsor support is just astounding and we look forward to telling you all about them! As they say: Membership has it's privileges! 


We have come so far so fast and we thank you all! We are also super excited to announce our annual charity that we as a group will support too! This is where we make some major magic happen girls!!!

Hello Pink Ladies - Great things are underway for our 2012 season! We are so thrilled that so many of you have already committed to being a member and look forward to the many more that will join us. We are well underway with our corporate sponsorships and are just "tickled pink" that we have secured our main title sponsor!! Mums the word on the "who" for now....but know that we're thrilled! We have lots of additional sponsorship opportunities available so let us know if you're interested and we will make it happen!

KICKOFF AND HOLIDAY PARTY 12/14:

Please SAVE THE DATE for Wednesday, December 14 at 6:30 p.m. where we will have our PINK LADIES KICKOFF meeting and Holiday Party!! 

It will be at Eliza Blackwells house (203 Summer Rest Rd). There is NO pressure to be a member, so join us if you're not sure and just want to see what we are all about. We will be answering any and all questions about THE PINK LADIES, INC 2012 and are looking forward to seeing new and old faces!

MEMBERSHIP: We will have membership form and waivers, accepting membership dues, and (hopefully) have fit kits for tri tops. We will introduce our sponsors and charities for 2012 as well.

Dinner will be a pot luck salad bar. Lettuce and proteins will be provided, we just ask you bring one item to add to the salad bar: (ie. broccoli, cranraisins, pine nuts etc). Or you can bring a dessert or bottle of wine if you wish. 

GIFT EXCHANGE: Tis the season to be naughty or nice! We will be having our 2nd annual white elephant gift exchange this nite too! Bring a $10 or less gift wrapped for a fun and competitive gift exchange.

It's official!

Welcome to The Pink Ladies website! Since July 2010 we have been an “informal” group of ladies dedicated to empowering each other through the sport of triathlon and other athletic endeavors.  We decided that it was time to become an “official” group which will allow for better organization and for us to further spread our goals to all the ladies of the Wilmington community, as well as being able to “give back” to the Wilmington, NC area through different charitable goals each year. 

We've trained and raced everything from our first 5k to our first Ironman!  We support all women and strive to empower each other through our training.   Whether you walk, run, tri, swim, or bike; we believe in motivating those who choose to race or just meet new athletic and healthy goals.  We are here to support you all the way as you chase your dream of a tri, a 5k, or even an Ironman.  We are old friends, new friends, mothers, daughters, sisters and wives—We are the Pink Ladies!
